Leading Global Expert on Neuropsychology Professor Ian Robertson will discuss his book ‘The Winner Effect’
Professor Ian Robertson (ianrobertson.org) is a clinical psychologist and neuroscientist with a unique ability to apply his research to the pressures of everyday life.
About Ian Robertson
Ian is Professor of Psychology at Trinity College Dublin, Visiting Professor at University College London, and has had senior academic appointments at Columbia, Cambridge, Toronto, Bangor and Padua Universities. He was founding director of Trinity College Institute of Neuroscience and has published more than 200 scientific papers and books on brain and behaviour.

His latest book The Stress Test: How Pressure Can Make You Stronger and Sharper (Bloomsbury) shows how stress can have emotional and cognitive benefits. His previous books, Mind Sculpture, The Mind’s Eye and The Winner Effect, have been translated into many languages and he is widely recognised as one of the world’s leading researchers in neuropsychology. He studied at University of Glasgow and the Institute of Psychiatry, University of London, gaining his PhD in neuropsychology from the University of London in 1988.
Professor Ian Robertson is a Fellow of the US Association for Psychological Science, of the British Psychological Society and of the Royal Society of Arts.
The conference will take place over two days – Friday 25 and Saturday 26 November and bring together national and international speakers, taking on the contemporary issues affecting architectural practice. This conference is run in conjunction with the Architecture Expo exhibition.
