Professor Irena Bauman will discuss ‘How to be a Happy Architect’

Irena Bauman is a cofounder of Bauman Lyons Architects established in 1992, Leeds, UK. With her team she has undertaken a wide range of bespoke projects that range from small installations to large masterplans. Irena has worked collaboratively with artists and have facilitated many public sector and community projects.Through her practice she seek to find application to theory and through design led research to explore the added value that architects and architecture can bring to society.

As architects we have a choice of how to practice and there are ethical choices we can make both as professionals and as individuals. I want to teach students architecture and urban design that is underpinned by a value system that makes it worthwhile to get out of bed every morning’. Irena Bauman
